About CCP

The Central City Partnership is a collaboration of community-based organizations, faith based institutions, public schools, businesses, universities, residents and community leaders (both grass roots and elected) in the Central City Neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana.  The Partnership was organized in 1994 by the Central City Economic Opportunity Corporation (CCEOC) for the purpose of strategic planning and development of a neighborhood collaborative to facilitate Enterprise Foundation assistance and other national funding sources.  The Partnership also served as the requisite community governance structure for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded by the City of New Orleans Enterprise Community initiative. Since its inception, the Partnership has developed into a community governance structure to facilitate and promote revitalization of the Central City Neighborhood.

Purpose

The purpose of the Central City Partnership is to empower Central City residents with knowledge and skills to identify, develop and implement strategies to approach issues that negatively impact the community and take advantage of opportunities that will produce a stronger, involved and healthy community; and to facilitate the development and continuous improvement of the neighborhood collaborative through planning and strategic direction setting, advocacy on behalf o f the community, resource development and accountability to the community of stakeholders.

Our committees include:

CCP’s Comeback Committee
The Comeback Committee works closely with the 6th District Police Force to find innovative ways to fight crime, improve quality of life, and foster economic development.

CCP’s Youth Committee

  • Produced a “Youth Think Tank” Position Paper, developed by professionals together with twelve youths of Central City.
  • Developed a “Safe Routes to School” initiative with the Edgar B. Harney School, a “Spirit of Excellence” Charter School.

CCP’s Health Committee
The Health Committee consists of health providers for the Central City Community.

CCP’s Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Committee is presently working on developing a new and improved website.

CCP’s Economic Development Committee
The Economic Development Committee with developers to provide job opportunities to Central City residents.

CCP’s Education Committee
The Education Committee consists of educational entities in Central City.

CCP’s Culture Committee
the Culture Committee is currently planning a festive and historic event to celebrate the Partnership’s involvement with the Central City community and the reopening of the Dew Drop INN in 2011.
